Darryl Mathieson

I started my PhD in Philosophy in July 2022 at ANU, where I work with Victoria McGeer, Frank Jackson, and Daniel Stoljar. My main area of specialization and interest is consciousness. A lot of my work sits at the intersection of philosophy and psychology (and sometimes psychiatry). I write on a range of topics within the philosophy of mind including thought insertion in schizophrenia, the functions of consciousness, epiphenomenalism about consciousness, the hard problem of consciousness, and the structure and nature of inner awareness or minimal self-consciousness.
